What is an ECO-Rated Green home?

ECO-Rated Green homes are factory-built homes engineered and constructed in accordance with the federal building code administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The HUD code was established in 1976. ECO-Rated Green homes may be single- or multi-sectioned and are available in various sizes and floor plan configurations.

An ECO-Rated Green home must meet the following Green Criteria and Performance Threshold:

  Advanced framing techniques and home designs that effectively optimize the use of building materials.

  We build a better building envelope and incorporate more energy efficient mechanical systems, appliances, and lighting into a home, yielding long-term utility bill savings and increased homeowner comfort.

What’s the difference between site-built and modular homes? A site-built home is constructed on site over a period of many weeks; a modular home is assembled on site and is usually finished within a week. Otherwise, both are constructed to adhere to the same building codes and zoning regulations. So, why not take advantage of modern modular construction when considering your new home? What is a modular home?

A modular home is built in a controlled factory environment in sections, or modules, and is engineered and built to the state or local building codes where the home will be located. Factory-built modules are then transported to the site, where they are installed on permanent foundations and completed by professional installers.
